The Black & Blue Car from 2004:

That can of Blue Paint came from Cheapo-Depot in Sand Springs right around the time I helped paint my first Pure Stock in late 2000 or early 2001; I'd grabbed several 1-qt cans of Orange, just because it was Orange -- and since it was only a buck a can, I grabbed a bit of Blue too, "Hey, we'll use it for something one of these days...

Yes, as a matter-of-fact, I am quite proud of that Hood, and I still have it on the wall in my garage. It's another throw-back to the first Pure Stock; I remember hearing that song on the radio in the shop while we were workin' on the first black car, and when I got my hands on the CD, the first thing I thought was "Ooooh, Car Hood Material," but I didn't have the confidence to try it. Three years and two cars later, I finally tried it, and I was quite happy with how it turned out -- Even though it was quite a bit of work, including fighting with a grumpy airbrush kit for the last bit of dark orange highlight in the flames. Brian and I did that as a team, all four hands on the airbrush like a wee-gee-board. Heh...

Yeah, we've quietly called it
